Juan Carlos Pagan is a New York based Designer, Typographer, and Art Director. In 2006 he received his BFA in Communication Design from Parsons School of Design, and in 2011 he completed his studies as part of the inaugural class of Type@Cooper. Juan is currently the Design Director at Deutsch New York and a Partner at the Brooklyn based design studio Pagan & Sharp. Prior to Deutsch Juan served as Head of Design at DDB New York, and his work over the past three years was partially credited with DDB New York’s creative resurgence. His clients have included The New York Times Magazine, ESPN Magazine, Print Magazine, Pinterest, The New York Lottery, Water is Life, and the AIGA among others. His work has been recognized by The ADC, The Type Directors Club, Cannes Lions, The One Club, D&AD, The Clios, Print Magazine, and Communication Arts Magazine. In 2012 he was named a Creative You Should Know by Creativity Online and AdAge. In 2013 Juan was the recipient of the ADC Young Guns 11 Award, and was listed in the top 10 of Adweek‘s Talent 100.

    The 91st Art Directors Club Annual. The annual is an extension of the “keep fighting the good fight” campaign, which pokes fun at the industry while celebrating the best of the year’s creative achievements.

    Print Magazine 20 Under 30

    Set of custom numbers for Print Magazines April 2012 New Visual Artist20 under 30 issue. The numbers themselves act as windows allowing Print Magazine to showcase the work of all 20 winners at once on the cover. I ultimately provided them with two sets of custom numbers to use on the cover and throughout the magazine.
