Studio Moross is a creative design studio focusing on art direction, branding, print and moving image. As a studio we act as an in-house design team, for labels and artists, offering campaign imagery, art direction and creative. We can do this on any scale, from a digital single release, to a full album campaign with special editions and multiple formats. Studio Moross was set up by graphic artist and art director Kate Moross, and follows on from her work with creative collective and record label ISO. Moross has worked with a range of commercial clients including Nike, Kiehls, Glastonbury, The Guardian, Virgin and Nokia. She has also worked prolifically in the music industry designing for artists and labels such as Tom Vek, Zomby, Hearts Revolution, Midnight Juggernaughts, EMI, Sony, Universal, Island, Warner and Young Turks. Moross also continues her role as Art Director for Simian Mobile Disco, L-Vis 1990 and Jessie Ware. Studio Moross now sees Moross expanding her team, working with some of the freshest new design talent, and seeking to make good design universal and accessible.

Project 3 of 5
A Microscopic music video for British band Alpines. “It was important to us to create the perfect visual accompaniment to Alpines’ Ice and Arrows,” explains Kate. “As a studio we are always keen to find new processes to generate moving image. Working with the band’s references we developed the idea of creating the entire music video under a microscope, and then introducing a layer of performance that worked in harmony with the colour and movement of the footage. “We grew and sampled our own crystal formations and created chemical reactions in petri dishes – which were then captured using all the features of the specially adapted video microscope”.
Directed by Kate Moross & Hans Lo.
