ADC ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF LEVINE/LEAVITT ARTIST IN RESIDENCE AWARD
NEW YORK—October 21, 2014— ADC and Levine/Leavitt are pleased to announce that Young Guns 12 winners Katie Orlinsky and Kelsey Dake have received the first ever Levine/Leavitt Artist-In-Residence Award.
The award, brand new for Young Guns 12 invites the winners onto a special roster at Levine/Leavitt with a year of representation by the New York based commercial artist management company. Levine/Leavitt, along with an advisory board will work closely the winners to guide them and help take their careers to the next level.
The board includes:

• Dave Bett, Design Director at Columbia Records/Sony Music
• Cliff Lewis, Executive Producer at Droga5
• Danny Clinch, Photographer/Filmmaker
• Jeff Levine and Liz Leavitt, Co-founders of Levine/Leavitt
“Kelsey Dake’s illustration and Katie Orlinksy’s photography both represent the best qualities of Young Guns: exceptional talent, bold execution and a sense of adventure in their explorations,” says Jeff Levine. “It was difficult for us to choose from the incredible array of this year’s winners. All of us at Levine/Leavitt along with our Board of Advisors are excited and ready to help guide their careers to the next level and to launch our first Young Guns Artists In Residence roster.”
New York based photographer, Katie Orlinsky said, “It’s a huge honor to have been chosen and such a unique career opportunity for me right now. My background is in news and photojournalism, so with this opportunity I get to not only expand into a whole new world of the photography industry, but do so with the guidance and support of such a prestigious and talented team.”
Kelsey Dake, an illustrator based in Seattle, commented, “When I found out I got Young Guns, I cried (there are witnesses), and when I found out I got the Artist in Residence award I definitely ran around my studio and punched and kicked the air. I have always anticipated that winning Young Guns would help take my career to the next level, and the Artist in Residence Award is added assurance that it will. “
Orlinksy and Dake were selected from a class of thirty-one Young Guns, in the twelfth annual competition for young creative professionals. They were awarded at sold-out ceremony at the Art Directors Club where they received the brand new Young Guns 12 cube. The cube was designed and produced at Deutsch NY by Young Guns Juan Carlos Pagan (YG11) and Menno Kluin (YG6) and Brian Gartside (YG12).
Work from the YG12 winners will be featured in an exhibition at the ADC Gallery in New York through October 30 (Free admission, Monday -Friday, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm,) and added to the ADC permanent online collection.
