Wael Morcos + Facing Forward: AIGA at 100
Wael Morcos was selected by the AIGA Middle East chapter to represent the region at the AIGA centennial celebration in New York. Wael’s design incorporates black letterforms that spell the words “rose water” in a detached and stylized Thuluth script. “Rose water has a distinctive flavor and is used heavily in Middle Eastern sweets. It is also offered as a gesture of hospitality as guests sit and converse.”
From AIGA: “This exhibition at the AIGA National Design Center in New York City celebrates AIGA’s rich history and vibrant future through a timeless design icon: the chair.” The exhibition runs through April 4.
