Pablo Medina: Design is Culture

We’d like to congratulate Pablo Medina on the opening of his new studio: Design is Culture. The studio is based in the East Village of NYC, “making design artifacts by using culture as the primary resource for ideas and aesthetics.”

“Design is Culture will be dedicated to using culture as the primary resource for ideas and aesthetics. Design is Culture is both a graphic design business and a social statement that plants its roots firmly in the individual entrepreneurial human spirit. Over the past decade, so much culture has been lost in favor of corporate homogenization and over-inflated profit motives. Every day, boutique restaurants and corner bodegas are being replaced with character-less chain business’ appealing to the masses. Who cares about “buy-ins” and “scalability” and “expansion” and all of the other corporate mumbo jumbo. We’d rather dance.”
